Save The Road ! is a grass-roots effort dedicated to saving Davis Road [formerly known as CR 100S] and Meridian Road in Greenfield and Hancock County Indiana. Eli Lilly has voiced intent to close nearly 4 miles of these roads. A public hearing was held on the matter on June 3, 2003 and the County Commissioners approved the measure on June 9, 2003.

We have been pursuing means to keep these roads in the hands of the tax payers who rightfully own their destiny. The long awaited trial took place on January 31, through February 2, 2005. And on July 18, 2005 Hamilton County Superior Court Judge William J. Hughes ordered the ordinance vacating the Roads "VACATED". Since then, Lilly appealed Judge Hughes decision then, luckily for us and the Roads, dropped their appeal. However, just because we won huge this time does not mean our Roads will remain off Lilly's menu indefinitely.

Visit our ACTION page to learn more about what you can do to mitigate Lilly's inherent self-interests.
